Purrfect Pals

Purrfect Pals was founded in 1988 by Kathy Centala who has dedicated and committed her life to helping cats.  The Purrfect Pals sanctuary is located in Arlington, WA.  Because of its rural location, the sanctuary has pioneered off-site adoption events and placement of cats in partner pet stores. More than 2,500 cats are being placed annually through the shelter and more than 20 off-site locations through-out Puget Sound. Since 1988, Purrfect Pals has adopted out over 20,000 cats.

In the late 1990s, the Purrfect Pals cat hospital opened to provide top-quality care for the shelter cats. The hospital also provides free and low-cost spay and neuter surgeries to low-income families, as well as free surgeries for feral cats. Sanctuary veterinarians perform more than 2,000 surgeries every year.

Purrfect Pals' comfortable sanctuary spaces for feral cats, cats with leukemia, cats with FIV, and cats with behavioral issues set a standard for cat comfort and care. In early 2006,  FIV-Land opened - an innovative cat adoption facility for cats with FIV. Purrfect Pals is currently adopting out about 60 FIV cats a year.

Purrfect Pals is a no-kill shelter. The sanctuary currently has 250+ permanent feline residents.
